George Armstrong Custer was one of the most colorful and interesting characters of the American Civil War. In part one we'll explore his early life and exploits as he rose quickly to the rank of Brigadier Gen'l in the Union Army at the age of 23. 

He was born in Ohio but considered himself a Michigan Wolverine his entire life.
