Past Loves – A History Of The Greatest Love Stories
Welcome to the very first ever episode of Past Loves - the new weekly history podcast that explores affection, infatuation and attachment across time.
This week I am joined by Rebecca Burton, Assistant Curator & Archivist at Harewood House to discuss the relationship between HRH Princess Mary and the 6th Earl of Harewood, Henry Lascelles.
This relationship may ring a bell to fans of the period drama series Downton Abbey as it was depicted in last year's film to be unhappy. Rebecca and I, however, delve into the archives to discover the real story behind the drama of this marriage rooted in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside.
