Creature Commandos Season 1 has released in its entirety, so it is time for the Phase Hero podcast to discuss the 7-episode run which launched the DC Universe! The Bride, Rick Flag, Nina Mazursky, Weasel, Doctor Phosphorus, and more have officially been introduced to the animated world and some are headed to live-action DC Studios titles ahead of Season 2! Den of Thieves 2: Pantera is finally arriving, meaning it's time to talk with Gerard Butler and O'Shea Jackson Jr. about their returns to the heist world! BD talks with the cast, as well as director Christian Gudegast and producer Tucker Tooley! Den of Thieves might be on its way to making Butler's Nick and Jackson Jr.'s Donnie into characters a franchise can build around. The movie flips the script and forces their characters to work together this time, rather than having them feuding and running from one another as they were throughout the first Den of Thieves movie! This episode of Phase Hero was recorded at the Porsche HQ in Los Angeles!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Universe combine for a dozen titles releasing in theaters and on streaming platforms in 2025. In this episode of Phase Hero, the crew reveals their respective Top 10 lists for most-hyped titles of the year. The eligible titles include Superman, Peacemaker Season 2, Harley Quinn Season 5, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Zombies, Ironheart, Captain America: Brave New World, Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Thunderbolts*. 

One last look back at 2024 sees the Phase Hero crew reveal their favorite movies and shows of the year, with the rules being that there are no rules. Marvel and DC titles are eligible, Star Wars shows, anything that hit theaters or Netflix, shows that aired on cable or streaming, and everything in between. If the movie or show released in 2024, Brandon, Jenna, Jamie, and Aaron are allowed to put it in their Top 8 of the year! One-by-one, the crew reveals their favorite titles of the year.

What If..? Season 3 has released its final episode, marking the end of Marvel Studios' first animated series. With all eight episode available, the Phase Hero team reviews the season and talks about some of their favorite moments and Easter eggs from the recent run. The Watcher has assumed his role with new allies by his side... but did it work as a series and how were the episodes? This review contains full spoilers for Season 3 of What If..?.

Batman movies are being delayed with both The Batman 2 and Brave and The Bold having been revealed as pushed back on Friday morning. This prompted speculation about whether or not James Gunn's DC Universe will combine the franchises he is creating with David Corenswet's Superman and Matt Reeves is building with Robert Pattinson's Batman. Plus, Sony's CEO Tony Vinciquerra made remarks about the studio's failing Spider-Man franchise which doesn't have a Spider-Man in it and, naturally, the Internet reacted. It's the last "news" show of the year for Phase Hero!

Get ready for the third and final season of What If..? with insights from Marvel's Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation Brad Winderbaum and the series executive producer and director Bryan Andrews. Andrews is going on to helm to Marvel Zombies animated series, sharing insights about the upcoming series in addition to how he wrapped up the alternate universe series which kicked off Marvel Animation. Winderbaum opens up about Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars impacting TV plans, how What If..? Season 3 ties into the larger Multiverse Saga, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and more.

James Gunn opened up about Superman in an interview on the movie's set in Cleveland, sharing details of the film ranging from how it opens "in the middle of the action" to the musical score and Lois Lane & Clark Kent's relationship this time around. This interview does not contain spoilers for Superman but there are plenty of details about the DC Universe and Gunn's plans for this first movie installment and beyond. Kraven the Hunter is officially playing in theaters, with audiences having strong reactions to the movie whether they were what the film intended or not. Is Sony's last Marvel movie of the year good?
