Directed by Michael Cuesta, the episode was originally aimed to conclude a two-part pilot and catapult the MCU series into its first season. Daredevil: Born Again director Michael Cuesta opens up about working on the Marvel series, his first time crafting a super hero story. Cuesta previously directed the pilot episode of Dexter, with his two episodes of the new Daredevil show originally intended to be the pilot of the Marvel TV series. Brandon Davis walks through the work on Matt Murdock's story in these new episodes, discussing the events of each after they have released on Disney+. Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars got some big updates this week, with the most informative and official coming from Joe Russo about Robert Downey Jr as Doom. Batman movies are being delayed with both The Batman 2 and Brave and The Bold having been revealed as pushed back on Friday morning. This prompted speculation about whether or not James Gunn's DC Universe will combine the franchises he is creating with David Corenswet's Superman and Matt Reeves is building with Robert Pattinson's Batman. Plus, Sony's CEO Tony Vinciquerra made remarks about the studio's failing Spider-Man franchise which doesn't have a Spider-Man in it and, naturally, the Internet reacted.
