Ep.163 Native logging sustainability: To ban or not to ban? - Paul Reid (The Aussie Logger)

52 min • 9 juli 2023

Victoria is set to ban logging in native forests for timber. Sounds great, right? But let's dig a little bit deeper and see if we've missed something here.

Paul Reid educates people on social media about what it's really like in Aussie forestry as The Aussie Logger. He works in a forestry plantation setting, but he feels strongly that we have a responsibility to conduct native logging in Victoria for a number of reasons, including the quality of our timber and the quality of our environmental practices when compared with countries we're likely to source timber from if we can't produce it locally.

Prepare to have your beliefs challenged, and keep an open mind when you listen to this episode
