Today’s show is an extra special episode because for the first time on PBA we’ll be hearing from the partners perspective as well. Teisha, a proud Wiradjuri-Yuin woman whose songlines sing from the mountains to the ocean, and Markus, a proud Maori man from Aotearoa, New Zealand, take us on the journey to birth their son on aboriginal land, under a gum and she-oak tree.
Although having two drug-free hospital births with her first children, Teisha felt excluded and suppressed by the maternity system. When her and Markus consciously conceived their son, they went on a mind, body and spirit journey to bring him earthside; honouring the old ways of their indigenous culture and implementing sacred practices.
Teisha describes this birth as being the last part of her healing journey, regaining her true power within by “Birthing this way. My way. Our way”. An incredibly inspiring story of deep connection to their ancestral lines, and each other.
