On today’s episode I chat with Northern Rivers mother, Charlie, about her two births. Charlie’s first birth was a transfer from home ending in an emergency caesarean section. Diving deep into the emotions she was left with after that experience, she was able to pull from it the lesson she needed to bring into her next birth; deep surrender. When the decision was made to transfer to hospital during her second birth, although not what she had envisioned, she details her experience as being polar opposite to her first. Feeling supported by her team and in control of the decisions once there; she narrates her birth as being a healing experience for her and her partner. Charlie also shares the beautiful analogy her husband used to explain pregnancy loss to their infant daughter, and how a flock of black cockatoos gave her the sign she needed that everything was going to be okay.
