A Prayer To Renounce Fear*
Father, help me to know and understand that I am a child of Your love.
Help me to agree with You that I am not subject to fear, that you have not given to me a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
It is written in Romans 8:15-16, "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father... The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God."
Lord, I believe your Word -- help my unbelief!
Cause me to live in your Word, by the working of the Holy Spirit. Send the Holy Spirit to systematically expose and destroy every lie of the devil that I have accepted and that keeps me in bondage to fear, and replace every lie with the truth of your Word and of your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. I ask this, Father, in Jesus' name.
In the Almighty Name of Jesus Christ:
I reject fear of the future, for I believe that the future is in Your Hands. It is written in Psalm 31:15, "My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies."
I reject fear of evildoers, for Your Word says, “Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident...For He will hide me in His shelter in the day of trouble; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent; He will lift me high upon a rock.”
I renounce fear of rejection, for it is written in Psalm 27:10, "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."
I renounce fear of witnessing about Christ, because it is written in Proverbs 29:25, "The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe."
Therefore, I choose to fear You more than I do any human being. I affirm what is written in Psalm 118:6, "The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?"
I renounce the fear of losing my property and possessions, for Your Word says,
Philippians 4:11 and 19, "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content... But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
I renounce fear of Satan, for it is written in Revelation 12:10-11, "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down... And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."
I renounce the fear of losing loved ones in death, for it is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:14, "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."
I renounce fear of death, for the Lord Jesus Christ has said in John 14:1,3, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me... And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
It is written also, in Philippians 1:21, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
I renounce fear of martyrdom, for Your Word declares, in Luke 12:4-5, "I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do... But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him."
I renounce fear of loneliness, for we are promised, in 1 John 1:3, "Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ." And in Hebrews 13:5, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."And again, in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
I renounce fear of intimidation, for you have told us, in John 15:18-19, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you... If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."
John 16:2-3,33, "They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. [3] And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. [33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
I renounce fear of false accusations. I accept this promise, in Matthew 5:11-12, "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you , and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake... Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."
I renounce the fear of being treated unjustly, and of being disenfranchised, for of Jesus Christ it is written, in 1 Peter 2:21,23, "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:...Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously."
I renounce fear of violent religions and their desire to intimidate and destroy. I renounce fear of political correctness.
I declare that “The truth shall set me free,” and I choose to live in freedom and liberty in Christ Jesus. I will speak the truth and not be silent.
I renounce all fear of curses, either known or unknown, spoken against me and my family. It is written in Proverbs 26:2, "The curse causeless shall not come"; and in 2 Corinthians 5:21, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
I renounce fear of manipulation and control.
I renounce the fear of being involved in public or political activity.
I declare that Jesus Christ is Lord and Master over all.
I submit to Jesus as Lord of every area of my life. Jesus Christ is Lord of my home. Jesus Christ is Lord of my relationships. Jesus Christ is Lord of my city. Jesus Christ is Lord of my nation. Jesus Christ is Lord, above all false gods and religions. Jesus Christ is Lord over all the nations of the earth.
I commit myself to be a living witness to Jesus Christ as Lord. I am not ashamed of the gospel of His death, resurrection, and glorification. As in Galatians 6:14, "God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world."
I ask now that You will fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and pour upon me all the blessings of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Grant me the grace to understand the truth of Your Word clearly, and to apply it in every area of my life. Give me words of hope and life, as You have promised. Open and bless my lips so that I can speak to others with authority and power in Jesus’ name. Give me the boldness, and give me wisdom, to be a faithful witness for Christ. Give me a love for all people, and a passion to share the love of Christ with them.
Grant that I shall share with Jesus in his suffering, death, and resurrection. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
