We explore the three cultural moments that shaped Sue- charting the modern fight for equality. For more than 40 years, Sue Sanders has advocated for LGBTQ+ rights in a bid to end the oppression of marginalised communities everywhere. Her life-changing work has included serving on the LGBT Advisory Group to the UK Government’s Hate Crime Board, helping to produce national policy on prosecuting homophobic crimes effectively and creating free lesson plans for teachers so they can teach about LGBTQ+ issues appropriately. As well as her activism on queer issues, Sanders has fought for the rights of women and people living with disabilities, as well as being a renowned educator who has written poetry, short stories, articles and publications.
