The central theme for this week’s music is ‘sing a new song to the Lord’, which is the opening text of the introit for the mass of the fifth Sunday of Eastertide.  Music included:  The introit ‘Cantate Domino’ for the fifth Sunday of Easter, I am the true vine by Arvo Part, Sir James McMillan is setting of Psalm 96: his motet ‘a new song’, Regina Caeli from Mascagni’s opera Cavalleria rusticana and Vaughan Williams’ setting of ‘Rise heart, thy Lord is risen’.
