Legendary Brazilian singer Gal Costa passed away last week, leaving behind an incredible legacy of musical innovation. Along with others in the Tropicália movement of the late 1960s, they created a new genre that married traditional Brazilian rhythms with international sounds. Gal was a central voice in the tropicalimso movement, and that work laid the foundation for a career spanning over 50 years.
Featuring music by Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia and Seu Jorge.
