Google has announced it will start accepting payments in cryptocurrency from some Web3 clients for its cloud services. Such payments will be facilitated by Coinbase through its Coinbase Commerce service, which supports 10 tokens, among them Bitcoin, Ether, Dogecoin, and ApeCoin. In turn, Coinbase will get a cut from each transaction, and the company will move some of its apps from Amazon Web Services to Google Cloud. At the top of today’s Real Vision Crypto Daily Briefing, Ash Bennington welcomes guest host and blockchain analyst Sara Cline to discuss Google's announcement and its significance for the broader crypto industry. Also on the agenda: BNY Mellon, the oldest bank in the U.S., is launching crypto custody services, and another massive DeFi hack has seen $100 million worth of tokens drained from Solana-based platform Mango. Mona El Isa, the founder of Enzyme and the founder and CEO of Avantgarde Finance, joins Sara and Ash to talk about this hack and the broader issue of security in the DeFi space.
