Hello! Welcome to a very special episode of the audio commentary podcast hosted by me, David Hughes.
When I first had the idea for Rogue Commentary, the very first person I thought to ask – and, in fact, did ask – to record a commentary for me was this episode's very special guest, Emma Forrest. Maybe it was because I had loved her film, Untogether, so much, I contacted the publicist and asked if I could host a Q&A – which I did, on a rooftop cinema a few days later. Emma is such a brilliant storyteller – her memoir Your Voice in My Head is an essential read – I knew that she would produce a terrific audio commentary for the film she worked so hard to make. Thanks to the pandemic, it took a little longer than expected for Emma to record this episode – but the results were well worth the wait. (I even shed a tear at the end.)
As always, you can listen as a podcast, or cue it up to the film, which – thanks to JustWatch – you can find here (UK) or here (US). One note if you're cueing up the film: Emma occasionally pauses the film to speak at length about a particular scene, so keep your remote (or mouse) to hand!
