Kikagaku Moyo

"Kikagaku Moyo" are a psychedelic Japanese rock band originally from Tokyo.

The band started out in 2012, living all together in a house in Tokyo and busking outside train stations when they weren't working their day jobs or jamming in the studio. It wasn't long before they wrote and recorded their self-titled debut album, which came together in less than a week. After performing many "pay-to-play" gigs in the heart of Tokyo, they set their sights on Melbourne, Australia, as a place they thought would appreciate their music and live shows. Their trips outside Japan set them on a path with a career in music. Now with half the members based in Amsterdam, and half in Tokyo, "Kikagaku Moyo" have their own independent record label, allowing them to not only put out their own music, but also to champion other underground sounds coming out of their home country.
