Raphael Saadiq

Born Charles Ray Wiggins, "Raphael Saadiq" officially cemented his solo career in 2002 with his debut album "Instant Vintage". A sarcastic title, the album was a nod to the throwaway culture of instant pop music which Raphael believed consumed the mainstream music scene at the time. But this debut release was not the start of his career. His history includes playing in bars when he was just 7 years old, going on tour with Prince when he was 19 years old, being a part of one of the early 90's biggest selling R&B acts and producing for artists including Tupac and Mary J.
