Feast of our Lady of the Rosary -- JOYFUL MYSTERIES Monday (October 7)

Today we celebrate the yearly feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. For several centuries, the feast day has also been known as “Our Lady of Victory.” It commemorates a 16th-century naval victory that safeguarded Europe from a Turkish invasion. Pope St. Pius V credited this triumph to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as people across Europe were called to pray the Rosary on the day of the battle.
