In this improvised narrative role playing podcast, come and join artists, writers, and comedians from Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, Marvel Comics, and more as they fight and fumble their way across the madcap, and exceedingly rude, fantasy wasteland of Cordelia. Branson Reese and his jester’s retinue, Christopher Hastings, Carly Monardo, Tim Platt, Joe Lepore, and Ali Fisher star as a group of unlikely survivors (a talking crow, a lich in a wig, a bubbly fawn, a Sasquatch punk, and a tiefling hunk, specifically) who must solve the mystery of Polaris University’s vanishment and return balance and higher education to their world. It’s going to be very hard and very, very, rude.
The podcast Rude Tales of Magic is created by Bucket of Milk. The podcast and the artwork on this page are embedded on this page using the public podcast feed (RSS).

...And so it was foretold, when the clock struck October and that first chill was felt on the wind, when children would gambol about in foolish costumes begging for treats, and Rude Tales of Magic would have a third release week in a month, that they would pause their beloved ongoing narrative (Nethermurk: In Theaters Now!), and turn their tales from Rude...to BLOOD.
When three of New York City's most craven monsters: The Invisible Man (Tim Platt), The Abominable Snowman (Joe Lepore), and Boo Berry (Christopher Hastings) finally score invites to the biggest party of the year- THE MONSTER MASH- finally their dreams of meeting cool people can be realized. But will they hold onto their invites? Or will the twisted mind of Branson Reese keep them from the greatest Halloween of their lives??

Just when they think they've escaped the forest of carnivorous plants, the gang finds themselves in a tiny echo-pocket of air surrounded by a freezing lake full of *gulp* sharks! Will they ever reach Culicidan, City Con Carne? Or are they quickly devoured by sharks and most of this episode is just looping lake wave sound effects? Listen to find out!

Just when you thought it safe to sweeten your tea- all the honey in the world was gone. For centuries. Miss you, you sweet golden amber you. And that's all there is to it, certainly nothing a Prince (Ali Fisher), a Professor (Christopher Hastings), a Grizzled Sea Captain (Joe Lepore), a hacker (Carly Monardo), and a washed-up thief (Branson Reese), can do about it. Why if a bunch that ragtag wanted to get honey back, they'd need, I don't even know, some kind of blessing? From, shoot, an Obelisk? Just spitballing here. I guess this what you get when you enter the twisted world of TIM PLATT.
P.S. RIP to Museum Gift Shops

You'd think a waterfront town like Piss Harbor would never run dry. And usually? You'd be right. Then this episode came along and turned everything on its head. Episodes have a habit of doing that, don't they? Anyways, can our heroes solve the mystery of the Piss Harbor drought? And will it have something to do with the episode's special guest (Zach Cherry)? Impossible to know until you listen!
Thanks to Zach for joining us on this one, and be sure to check him out later this month as the host of The Great American Baking Show, premiering May 24th on the Roku Channel!

Now, Piss Harbor isn't known as an especially lawful town. No sir. But that's even moreso the case on Binge Night—the one night of the year when all Laws in Piss Harbor take the night off and let their respectful rival Crimes pick up a shift. Whatever will Moose (Joe Lepore), Neil (Ali Fisher), and Jonathan Large (Christopher Hastings) do on this night of wanton criminality? Well, I suppose crimes seem likely, but then again I am *the episode description writer who is also A CRIMINAL*! So I may be a bit biased.

Do you remember the first time you took a long trip away from home, and then came back, and found some small detail had changed? Maybe the 7-Eleven repainted the lines in the parking lot, or your dentist was arrested for arson. Whatever it was, that small detail told you that home had, and would always, move on without you.
This episode is like that, but instead of the parking lot thing it's that the entire Soaking Valley is in the thrall of Mother. Whoops!

At long last the gang has finally gotten days of rest in a hippie sasquatch commune with no "catches" or "hidden problems" or anyone trying to "kill" them. No more conflict, everything is solved and normal. Show's over, folks. Unless.....na, no way. Could Cordelia's dad actually be...or what about that inquisitive sasquatch that keeps asking about the call stones....or the other one that kidnapped Freddy....or wait a minute, what's this about a "big show" tonight?

Why am I soft in the middle?
The rest of my life is so hard
I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a cartoon
In a cartoon graveyard"

There's simply no rest for the wicked. Reeling after the Battle of Brian Doyle Falls, the gang can barely catch a break as their brief respite is cut all too short. The open road calls yet again, and nowhere, not even the high fantasy preserve of The James Woods is safe. What dangers, what moral hazards, lie in wait for our heroes in this new, grand, wild place? Only time, and this very podcast, can say. DO YOU DARE LISTEN?

Strangers in even stranger lands, the gang must risk their lives (and then some) to discover if their new guide is friend, foe, or some new category (froend) in between. But in a place so turvy topsy, what is a friend? What is family? And with a family like this...who needs enemies? Or families? Or even friends? Wait a second, some of those are good. But which ones? WHO DO I SHOOT!?

The gang literally crosses paths with a figurative brother-in-arms. Will they join forces to defeat an infestation of evil along the way? Yes! Obviously!
CW: Coconuts, blood, loud noises.
A previous version of this episode had incorrect (but ultimately cool and fun, the kind of mistake you learn to root for, even!) venue listed for Tim's show in May. TIM PLATT WILL BE APPEARING AT UNION HALL IN BROOKLYN ON MAY 22. HE WILL BE TAPING HIS "WHAT THE HUG? TOUR FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE AND VACCINE FREEDOM" TOUR THAT NIGHT.
CORRECTION: A PREVIOUS VERSION OF THIS EPISODE SAID THAT TIM WAS DOING A SHOW FOR HIS "WHAT THE HUG? TOUR FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE AND VACCINE FREEDOM" THAT WAS A MISTAKE. IT IS JUST A STANDUP COMEDY SHOW OF TIM'S STANDUP COMEDY AND GUESTS. AT UNION HALL ON MAY 22. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH "VACCINE FREEDOM" OR THE TERRIBLE SITUATION IN UKRAINE, WHICH WE CONDEMN. AGAIN, THATS TIMBEBE PLATATA HIMSELF, TIM PLATT(!) AT UNION HALL ON MAY 22!

Being on the lam makes strange bedfellows, like the fang-a-toofed rhinemaidens of the Kay River's bloody muddy banks. In exchange for some much needed help the gang agrees to rescue that most precious of things, a wife! But with the Witchhunters' callstones now dotting the Cordelian Pastoral, and their newest enemy in possession of an invincible weapon (and a little standard issue razzmatazz), the cards look stacked against them like never before. Perhaps an old friend could help? They definitely have some of those. Tons, probably. Pretty sure.
Very thankful to be supported this week by The Beautiful Liar, QCODE Media's coolest, newest audio join. Give it a hear here.

Soup's up! Come and get it! After a brutal few days on their inexorable odyssey north along the mighty Kay River, our heroes are finally given room, board, shelter, mercy, grace, a warm welcome, the red carpet, succor, respite, and a place to lay those weary bones. Why, it looks like the denizens of picaresque bayou town Froggy Creek simply cannot wait to...have...our heroes....for dinner? Wait a minute.

BEHOLD, on this Pre-Hallow's Week, we present to you both tricks and treats. Available right now on the Rude Tales Patreon feed is Tim Platt's "What a Terrible Night," a decadent and terrifying descent into the cobwebbed, eldritch corners of Tim Platt's mind. WHAT HORRORS LURK BENEATH?? WHAT TERROR WAITS AHEAD?? WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH TIM'S OBSESSION WITH EDIBLE SLIMES, i.e. HONEY, SAP, TOMATO SAUCE, ETC?? Only by entering the creaky door of the Rude Tales patreon may your mind come face to face with these unknowable forms. Enter....if you dare.
BE FOREWARNED: The episode you are about to experience is haunted by unearthly frights, dark eroticism, twisted irreverence, and Deth.
Tim Platt runs a game of What A Terrible Night by Logan Dean with a SCAR-studded cast of Taylor GORE, Ali Fisher-OF-MEN, Joe LeGORE, Christopher BEEstings, and Carly MonardGORE. Will they make it out of this HAUNTed House alive? Or will they DIE? Bwa ha ha! I, Tim Platt, edited the ep too so manage GORE expectations!
Logan Dean made a great game and you can get it here: https://mega-corp.itch.io/what-a-terrible-night

Nothing makes a journey upriver more convenient and tolerable than that grandest of party barges, the mighty riverboat. Its vibe decadent, its pace, leisurely, its destination, romance. What better platform to view the Kay River and her picaresque environs? But wait, whats this? Complications!? Something that is, upon further investigation, not exactly what it, at first, appears to be!? HERE? In Cordelia? Well I never.

One second you're ambling along the Switchblade foothills, and then BOOM you're accosted by the traumatized diaspora of the festival you indirectly marooned in the desert (played by the hosts of good and beloved podcast Hey Riddle Riddle), and then juuuust when you're getting used to that BOOM a greater danger appears with heretofore unseen powers and malice. You just can't win these days! Unless, no, I shouldn't say it, it's too crazy. I just can't help but think, perhaps if you banded together with the nah, dont worry about it. What do I know, anyway? I'm just someone who cares! lol, this is a "fun one." Magnetize!
Ya GOTTA hit up Hey Riddle Riddle, the fantastic podcast hosted by our special guests Adal Rifai, Erin Keif, and John Patrick Coan: Fancy, Champagne, and Thunk, respectively. We love you.

Last year Tim Platt (Stirfry, Smellulus, Tim Platt, Davo) decided to try and run his own game of Honey Heist. Thank god we recorded it, because it must be heard to be believed. Unfortunately the audio had severe problems. Now, a year later, it has been fully restored, and this ABSOLUTE TREASURE of a game is being released today on our patreon. Here is but one sublime taste of the absolute FEAST that awaits you over on the patreon. We'll see you in two weeks when we return to Cordelia. Until then, Heist this Honey, grizzly mama.
Produced by Kodiak Sanders
Starring Branson Reese, Ali Fisher, Joe Lepore, Christopher Hastings, Taylor Moore and the entire contents of Tim Platt's subconscious mind.
Grant Howitt (wonderful, handsome, friend of the show) wrote Honey Heist. We recommend anything by him.

Help may come from below, but can they find an exit in time to avoid the terrified Witch Hunters' ultimate weapon. Who makes it out, and who doesn't? Will the Big Hole Boys ever ride again? How can we make love stay? All these answers and more await you in the calf-cramping finalé of our Ruleshaven residency.

We thought that while we're locked out of the studio due to NeoPlague, we'd nonetheless keep recording (We would never call ourselves heroes, but you are of course welcome to.) Only this time we'd tell a whole new story (same vibe) with whole new characters (somehow even dumber), exploring the world of Cordelia's bonkers past (like its present but over).
No need to worry, the original gang will return as soon as they can. Until then though, WE HAVE SUCH SIGHTS TO SHOW YOU.

Recently recovered Cordelian artifacts have revealed themselves to be semi-permanent (and quickly degrading), solidified auditory illusion spells, created by mage, historian, and naturalist, Thimbit Leavings, an unknown number of years ago in an attempt to document and market a collection of recorded sounds cataloging the entire natural, political, and cultural history of Cordelia.
We will be sharing them with you at random.

We are just thrilled as a cricket and pleased as a pretty peach pie to have Brennan Lee Mulligan as our first guest star. Brennan has been a huge influence on the show from before our first episode, is one of the greatest living Dungeon Masters and, good news for you, you can watch him work his magic on the hilarious and brilliant actual play show, Dimension 20 (youtube) (twitter) (insta) If you like Rude Tales, you are commanded to check out Dimension 20. Godspeed, lil bodhisattva.

One loose thread hunts another in the shadowed labyrinth of Scrum North, the erstwhile temple-cum-Kenku bandit hideaway. Blades in the dark. Betrayals remembered. Promises made. A new power dips a toe in the water. Can we escape our past? Would we even want to?
