Scared To Death

Evil Doppelgängers

75 min • 8 juli 2020

"I whipped around and saw that my mother - my REAL mother - had just walked in the house. When I turned around, the creature at the end of the hall was gone..."

A quote from today's second tale. Our first story deals with numerous sightings of a black-eyed girl in the a small wooded area of England known as Cannock Chase, and the terrible true crime backstory that may be behind them. Our second group of stories all deal with doppelgängers. We touch on the mythology of the notion of a dark twin, and then give several historical and one chilling contemporary account of someone encounter an entity that looks exactly like them. And then Lynze reads some spooky listener-submitted tales of paranormal terror to round out one of our most consistently creepy episodes yet!

Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
"Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH."
