Happy New Year!
In the summer of 2014, just as the nation was cheering England on in the FIFA World Cup, one man’s obsession with chemsex and so-called ‘unconscious’ pornography was about to collide with horrific consequences. Within 15 months, four young men would be dead at the hands of this predator and the police, whose reputation would lie in tatters, would announce the re-examination of 58 unexplained deaths in the proceeding four years, all linked to this sexual deviant.
This is the case of Stephen Port – also known as the Grindr Killer – a serial killer who stalked the gay community of Barking in East London – a killer who, had it not been for the perseverance of his victims’ friends and family, would most likely still be out there, drugging, raping and murdering his way through London’s gay scene.
