This week, in a listener-researched and written episode, we head to Omagh in Northern Ireland, as we take a look at the brutal 1998 murder of 17-year-old Sylvia Fleming.
On the cusp of adulthood, and with a difficult childhood now behind her, Sylvia thought she had struck gold when she met 26-year-old Stephen Scott. He was charming, handsome and popular. But he had a wicked side and enjoyed putting Sylvia down in front of her friends and family. And behind closed doors, things were much, much worse. He carried out his sadistic sexual fantasies on Sylvia and on the night of 3 April 1998, armed with a syringe full of insulin, he went too far and Sylvia paid with her life. A truly harrowing case...
Our thanks to Rhiannon Smith for researching and writing this episode and our thoughts remain with the loved one of Sylvia Fleming.
