In this episode of the Single Mother Survival Guide Podcast, Julia talks with Johanna Byrne. Johanna is an absolute inspiration. She is a single mother to 7 children, has just completed a law degree, and was named the 2016 National Indigenous Law (NIL) Student of the Year by the Attorney-General's Department. The award recognises the achievements of Indigenous Australians who improve justice outcomes for the Indigenous community.
We chat about how she went from floristry to law (an incredible story), coping after her husband passed away one year into her law degree and how she managed studying, working, and raising 7 kids on her own.
"You can't change the past, it's the way it is. You need to work out where you want to go and make a plan to get there.” - Johanna Byrne.
