Tim & Tay give colour commentary on the most subversive baseball movie ever made, Moneyball. Tune in for a chat about Brad Pitt, baseball stats, and strategic pixelation.
Synopsis
Partly inspired by true events, Moneyball tells the story of Oakland A’s manager Billy Beane challenging baseball’s century-long conventional wisdom by building a low-budget team that could go all the way.
Directed by Bennett Miller, Moneyball stars Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, and was released September 23, 2011.
Moneyball is available on Netflix.
Scene [1:13:16 - 1:20:47]
As frustration with his manager mounts, Billy Beane decides to radically shake up the team with a harsh fire-sale, trading away the team's most promising rookie, Pena (Gerardo Selasco), and most prolific name, Jeremy Giambi (Nick Porrazzo). Pete is forced to face his fears by telling Pena he has been traded and Billy makes a show of trading Giambi in front of his coach, Art Howe (Phillip Seymour Hoffman).
