Five in Ten 12/7/17: Artificial Intelligence Creates its Own Child

A Google supercomputer created its own "child" by writing a new software program that recognizes objects in images and video. While this has some useful applications, it begs the question: What happens when AIs write code faster than we can figure out what the new apps do?
