SciFriday: Exploding Whales and Rodents of Unusual Size

We discuss the Los Angeles outbreak of flea-borne typhus and the invasion of northern California by giant semi-aquatic rodents called the nutria.  Meanwhile, Hawaii tries to get rid of a whale carcass that’s drawing tiger and great white sharks close to shore, and we revisit a classic video of Oregon’s exploding whale.
