Slam the Gavel welcomes Camilla Cloward to the podcast. She is the Founder of Giving a Voice, a Non-Profit to help victims and survivors of Human Trafficking. Camilla Cloward is a Human Trafficking Activist, a public speaker and owner of Giving A Voice Podcast.
She is very passionate about fighting Human Trafficking and sex crimes since her own abuse as a young teenager and spoke about her story and how easily this can happen to anyone. Camilla's goal is to one day be an operator and bring children home to safety and rescue them from sex trafficking.
We had a powerful discussion on prostitution and how it can begin at 11-12 years of age. Camilla herself discussed how Human Trafficking can affect males and females being trafficked and the effects can be drug usage, eating disorders, trust issues and suicide.
This is an industry of 150 billion dollars year business for predators. Camilla is doing her podcast, Giving A Voice, to get enough donations to start her Non-Profit Organization. Camilla is hoping to start an internship this summer.
Camilla recommends the documentary "Happening Right Here," from Underground Railroad, which can be found on YouTube. We also discussed that 50% of children being trafficked through the Foster Care System are treated as "throw-aways."
