Dr. Susan Ilkov-Moor, Geriatric Psychiatrist Discusses Family Dynamics, Her Experience With Parental Alienation And Why The Courts Are Failing

     Slam the Gavel welcomes Dr. Susan Ilk-Moor to the show. She is a Geriatric Psychiatrist and also an alienated mother living in Kingston (Napanee) Canada. Dr. Susan Ilkov-Moor graduated from medical school from Queens University and has been in practice since 2006. She is seen here in a picture with a yoga-instructor who recently passed at the age of 101 and had practiced 93 years of her life practicing yoga.
    Primarily working with dementia she is also working with patients with Psychotic Depression. She has seen families witness a death of the soul when their loved one begins an early onset of dementia. Early onset is at the age of 60, which is rare and the youngest case of dementia was the age of 29.
    Dr. Susan looks at the patient's childhood trauma, PTSD and how they re-experience this as they go through cognitive impairment as well as family dynamics. Dr. Susan explained that patient's could only see their loved ones through the glass at the nursing home when the pandemic began and what the patients really need is hugs, the feeling of love.
     Parental Alienation has touched her own life as well as the legal system and its failure. Family Court perpetuates the Mental Health industry, the Prison industry and the Self Help industry, a "cash cow Family Court Circus." We discussed how the trauma of alienation and PTSD and how this affects the hippocampus in the brain. Excellent discussion with Dr. Ilkov-Moor.
