James Sisco, US Veteran, Shares His Mistreatment By Personality Disorders In The Family Court

   Slam the Gavel welcomes James Sisco to the podcast. James has served in the Marine Corp and Navy for 23 years. He did four combat tours, including Desert Storm and three tours in Afghanistan. James also has a 90% disability rating from the VA, which includes PTSD.     He was married for 11 years. There was never any physical/mental abuse with her or the children. A model father the entire time, taking them on family vacations twice a year, camping trips, participated in their extracurricular activities and teaching them values and integrity.      His wife filed for divorce and gave James primary custody of TWO of the three children, splitting up the kids. She made no attempts to resolve the matter amicably or co-parent. While his youngest daughter was in his ex-wife’s care, she threatened to hurt herself six days before her 9th birthday. He found out about it through his lawyer several days later. However, on his daughter’s birthday, the ex-wife would not allow her to see James or her siblings.      While representing himself, the judge delivered the most extreme case of judicial bias imaginable. He granted full legal custody of all three children to the ex-wife, made James undergo a Psychological Eval, a 14 week Parenting Course, Anger Management course, and awarded the ex-wife $25K in legal fees. James completed all of the requirements, went back to court to get custody and Judge Thomas Mann threw the motion out and again awarded the ex -wife $30K in legal fees, claiming there was no material change and that James continued to conduct "Parental Alienation." Judge Mann ruled in the first case that this was a "cooling off" period to allow mother to reconnect with the children.       James has appealed the ruling, submitted another motion to modify custody and visitation, which the ex-wife’s lawyer objected to. James is now  waiting on the courts decision to hear the case.       This dad has not had any physical contact with his three children in almost 15 months. His interactions are limited to 30 minute Skype calls on Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 7:00pm. The Skype calls are MONITORED and RECORDED by the ex-wife who ends them regularly WITHOUT WARNING OR NOTICE. The ex-wife has not allowed James to see his kids on Christmas, New Years, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, or on birthdays. James also has sent over 70 emails requesting increased communications or in-person visits through lawyers and paralegals—the majority of which were not responded to—with no increase in communications or in-person visitation.      The ex-wife put two of the children on ADHD medicine and enrolled all three of them in therapy. The therapist has a reputation of taking the woman’s side on matters like these and has been unresponsive to Jame's requests for a therapy plan, objectives of the therapy, and timeline. She told James that she needs to "build trust" with the children and when she does, she will "let them decide."
