In a Zoom meeting of the ‘Ramana Maharshi Foundation UK’ on 25th December 2021 Michael James discusses the significance of Biblical passages such as God’s statement ‘I am that I am’ (Exodus 3.14) and Jesus’s statement ‘Before Abraham was, I am’ (John 8.58) as explained by Bhagavan Ramana, who taught us that ‘I am’ is the original and natural name of God, because he is what shines within us as pure existence-awareness (sat-cit), which is our fundamental awareness of our own existence, ‘I am’.
