Episode #035 - Please welcome Deputy Director Faron K. Paramore; he serves as the 22nd Deputy Director of the United States Secret Service. Appointed in March 2021, Mr. Paramore has direct oversight of the agency's daily investigative and protective operations. Mr. Paramore also oversees the agency's current policies and is responsible for implementing emerging protective
and investigative technologies.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Paramore served as the agency’s Assistant Director of the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all efforts involving the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of operational intelligence and information affecting the protective mission of the Secret Service.
A 31-year veteran of the U.S. Secret Service, Mr. Paramore began his career in 1989 as a special agent assigned to the Detroit Field Office. He rose steadily through the ranks of the agency with subsequent assignments in the Grand Rapids Resident Office, the Presidential Protective Division, and as a Congressional Fellow. Mr. Paramore assumed greater levels of responsibility with supervisory assignments as Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge of the Recruitment Division; Resident Agent in Charge of the Grand Rapids Resident Office; and, Assistant Special Agent in Charge in the Washington Field Office. In his subsequent career assignment, Mr. Paramore served as Special Agent in Charge of Congressional Affairs where he worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security Legislative Affairs Office regarding legislative initiatives that could impact the Secret Service. He was appointed to the Senior Executive
Service in June 2009. During this period in his career, he served as Executive Assistant to the Director and, subsequently, as Deputy Assistant Director of the Office of Congressional Affairs.
He served in that capacity until his appointment to Assistant Director of the Office of Administration where he managed the fiscal responsibilities of the Secret Service. His areas of
responsibility included budget formulation and execution, procurement, facilities property management, and administrative services. Following this assignment, Mr. Paramore was appointed as Assistant Director of the Office of Government and Public Affairs. Mr. Paramore is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan; and holds a Master’s Degree in Management from Johns Hopkins University.
