Darth Maul but as a Jedi Master - Star Wars Explained

The concept designs from BF4 give us a different take on the Star Wars galaxy as a whole, where things are completely different compared to the normal timeline. Bad guys are good, and good are bad...leaving today's with Maul as a Jedi. I wonder if Palpatine was a Jedi in this and saved him?
