We talk to Ben Christo - Guitarist for post-punk/monolithic rockers The Sisters of Mercy and dark, melodic rock band Diamond Black. Ben shares his discovery and love for the arena rock explosion of the late '80s, revealing the significant impact this had on his career. From growing up in Bristol, heavily influenced by his cool uncle, we learn about the difficulties encountered as he strived to navigate an ever-changing rock landscape during the 1990s, eventually finding inspiration in brit rock, punk, industrial, goth, hardcore and nu-metal. Ben would eventually gain success with melodic metallers AKO, who performed with Avenged Sevenfold, AFI, Alkaline Trio and recorded a BBC Radio 1 session, before being recruited by The Sisters of Mercy in 2006. This took his career to a whole new level, headlining festivals across the globe, sharing stages with Metallica, Linkin Park, Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson and Depeche Mode and even writing music for hit US TV show, DC Comics' Legends of Tomorrow.
