It’s a slightly different episode of STUDIOCANAL Presents this month, as we're delighted to invite writer, producer, actor, director, comedian and film nerd Asim Chaudhry onto the show.

Asim has a memorable role in brand new romantic comedy What’s Love Got To Do With It, and we quiz him about that. Also, we’re digging into some of Asim’s favourite movies of all time, and why they matter to him.

It's chilly times in the world of the STUDIOCANAL Presents podcast this time around, as we dig into some ghostly tales to spend the dark nights with.

Critic, historian and author Pamela Hutchinson joins host Simon Brew to dig into two British horror favourites. 1945’s Dead Of Night sets them off talking about chilling mannequins and novelty golf shots. Then, 1949’s The Queen Of Spades comes under the microscope, and puts them off playing games of cards.

Both films are available on the STUDIOCANAL Presents channel, on Apple TV and Prime Video. What’s more, The Queen Of Spades is now available too in a new DVD and Blu-ray set. Just don't watch it with the lights off...

It’s a festive treat in the latest episode of STUDIOCANAL Presents, as we delve into a pair of films with a seasonal flavour to them.

Firstly, host Simon Brew is joined by critic Casper Salmon, and they explore Todd Haynes’ modern classic Carol, from 2015. Was this the case of the right film for the right people at the right time?

Then, comedian Sooz Kempner joins Simon as they head back to the 1980s for a look at Santa Claus: The Movie. The 1985 feature was a hugely ambitious Christmas feature on its first release: but what lessons does it teach us about this time of year?

Rev your engines for the latest episode of STUDIOCANAL Presents, as we get behind the wheel for a look at Walter Hill’s 1978 favourite, The Driver.

Host Simon Brew is joined by Arjun Sajip – currently reviews editor for Sight and Sound magazine – as they examine the hair-raising shoot of the film, the casting that never was, and the very different view of Los Angeles it put on screen. Plus, the films that have since drawn influence from the movie.

Simon also runs through the latest news from STUDIOCANAL too, with a look at some of the films to look forward to in 2023.

Mike Muncer is the host of the Evolution Of Horror podcast, as well as a journalist and producer. What's more, he's a massive John Carpenter fan, and the discussion covers films such as They Live, The Fog and Prince Of Darkness, with a dose of Escape From New York as well.

In this episode of STUDIOCANAL Presents, Simon Brew is joined by two guests to celebrate the cinema of the French New Wave, and in particular Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless.

Ginette Vincendeau, film critic and professor of Film Studios at King's College London, talks us through the background to the New Wave, what it is, and where Breathless fits in. Then Los Angeles-based critic Drew Gregory digs into the impact of Breathless, and tells us about a very unusual 13th birthday party!
