With CATL's recent statement that "Solid-State Batteries won't work", this episode is perfectly timed! I'm joined by the solid-state giant, Blue Solutions, who are arguable one of the most advanced solid-state companies in the world. Adrian Tylim joins me, who has a Masters in Energy Systems Engineering, he’d had an incredibly successful career in the renewables industry. Including some impressive work with NASA, he's also been a successful founder & CTO before joining Blue Solutions in 2018 as the Head of Business Development. He gives us his opinion on CATL’s recent comments, the future of solid-state, Blue Solution’s ownership and how important ownership is to the success and longevity of battery businesses. We also talk about their project in 2012, where they launched 5,000 solid-state battery powered Renault EVs onto streets, their successful partnership with Daimler in Paris, with solid-state powered buses, along with their exciting plans for the Paris 2024 Olympics. We talk about their generation 4 cells, their capacity for vertical integration and how they’re supporting the rest of the solid-state community through their lithium-metal and ultra-thin film manufacturing expertise. Finally we talk about the circulatory of the battery industry, with pressing importance on safety and battery recycling. Adrian, let's Take Charge!
