This drama was highly anticipated by many, based on the novel of the same name, The First Frost follows the story of Sang Yan (the brother from Hidden Love) and his childhood love Wen Yifan. Although this cdrama runs parallel to Hidden Love, it is a different story with a much darker theme surrounding it.

This drama is a xianxia, so it should’ve have  been a slam dunk for me, but the writing left a little bit to be desired for. Even with that in mind, I still overall enjoyed the drama. This drama came to us at the end of 2024, and quickly grabbed many viewers attentions, however as the story went on, more plotholes were found, and the ending left a lot of us thinking “what the hell just happened?”
