When it comes to quoting, both Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics 365 CRM offer great capabilities – but which one should you use (or even both!), how should it all be integrated and what are the pros, cons and best practices to be taken into consideration. It can
can feel a little confusing, especially when there’s no “one-size-fits-all" quoting process that every business uses. The types of products and/services you're quoting for can also add additional complexities to navigate.
In this episode of Tecman Talks Dynamics we’re exploring the quoting functionality and integration between both Dynamics 365 CRM and Dynamics 365 Business Central, discussing the various aspects of quoting, such as pricing, look and feel, electronic signatures, tax, payment terms, and more. We’ll also be delving into the advantages and disadvantages of quoting in both systems, helping you choose the best tool for your business needs and processes.

Everything you need to know about Enhancement Plans for on-premises customers
The latest price increase for Enhancement Plans (EPs) for Microsoft Dynamics on-premises products will take effect in the autumn and could end up costing your business more in the long run if you opt to do nothing.
Prices are set to rise in real terms by 6% from October 2024, whilst substantial discounts attached to moving to the cloud under the Bridge to the Cloud promotion are predicted to disappear at the close of the year. Moving from on-premises to the cloud is only one part of the story, as many on-premises systems (earlier than v22 for Dynamics 365 Business Central, or any version of Dynamics NAV) are now out of mainstream support and increasingly exposed to the risk of encountering software problems that can’t be fixed. It’s tempting to let your plan lapse, but there are potential pitfalls, from being unable to add items to your licence through to no longer having access to promotional prices for moving to SaaS. Doing nothing and absorbing the cost could seem like the easy option but planning ahead for your business is critical and the longer you delay decisions the higher the potential costs in time and money.
Tecman recognises that every business is different and that the finer details around licenses will vary. Start the conversation with your partner now about the best options for your business in the longer term.

However, it may require some tweaking and pose some security risks. The podcast hosts are pleasantly surprised by Co-pilot and recommend that every customer should try it out. They also warn that users who are not in the cloud may be missing out on its benefits.

Episode 3 is here, and it’s a time-sensitive topic that explores the changes that have happened around Brexit and how it’s affecting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft Dynamics NAV users.
Tecman’s Director, James, and our VAT/Brexit specialist, George, discuss – in considerable detail – everything you need to know about the recent Brexit changes in this short 20-minute podcast.
As George mentions, businesses have been up against it trying to find out the relevant facts around Brexit. But because things change so rapidly the information that was once correct and put out by HMRC has since been revised, or in some cases, completely withdrawn. To quote George “People have done their research to find out what they need to do, for it to have been completely changed.”

In this second episode of Tecman Talks Dynamics, Directors James and Matt discuss how projects have significantly evolved due to the current times, which has made a considerable impact on how they are delivered to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central/Microsoft Dynamics NAV customers.
In this 20-minute conversation, the duo explains how the last 12 months have seen the biggest shift. They explain how the pandemic, as it has in many other areas, accelerated the change to remote project delivery - a move many Tecman customers had already started on in recognition of the sometimes-prohibitive time and costs associated with always having consultants on-site.
As you delve into the podcast with James and Matt, you will hear their views on why remote working can be more valuable for your business. As Matt says, it’s all about giving clients “the right person, for the right project, for the right amount of time, rather than sending a busload of experts to one location for a whole day”
James and Matt also discuss:
How the 1000+ Dynamics apps from AppSource have changed the way projects are delivered - and paid for! As Matt puts it: “There’s an app for everything nowadays and if you decide you don’t need it anymore, you just cancel the subscription”.
The age-old question of whether to upgrade or re-implement when moving from an older version of Dynamics NAV to Dynamics 365 Business Central and how the right licensing can help
How can we use Teams to improve project delivery and training (spoiler alert: lots of tips to help you maximise Teams for your business and improve communications around projects!).

This podcast explores the best ways for Microsoft Dynamics 365 users to fully maximise their business system by taking advantage of the most suitable licensing plan for them.
In this podcast episode, two Tecman Directors, James and Liz, discuss all things licensing within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central/NAV, from the most cost-effective options, to how you should be selecting the right route to protect you in the future.
As you delve into the podcast with James and Liz, you will discover more about enhancement plans and the advantages of trying the SAS platform; you’ll listen to the duo break the stigma around ‘difficult’ upgrades that “cause a lot of hassle” (as we don’t believe they do!) and you might even start to think about the loyalty benefits that Microsoft are providing customers with add-on licenses; for the first time ever.
When hearing James and Liz discuss the benefits, explore the different opportunities and map out how to get the most for your money, it’s important to remember that licensing needs to support what your organisation demands from its business system.
As Liz says: “Licensing is a minefield, but Tecman can help you to ensure your money is being used in the most effective way.”
