In the early millennium Björn Geldhof took a Masters degree in Art History at Leuven University, Belgium.  Since graduating he has been involved in journalism, theatre and art curating including the post of Artistic and Strategic Director at Yarat Contmporary Art Space from 2015-2018.  From 2009 Björn has been involved with PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv where he is Artistic Director.  The Centre closed on 24 February 2022 when the Russian invasion of Ukraine began. 143 days later, earlier this week, it reopened with the exhibition  When Faith Moves Mountains which combines works on loan from Antwerp's contemporary art museum M HKA with contemporary Ukrainian art created during the war.  The Pinchuk Foundation also sponsors the Future Generation Art Prize for emerging  international artists as well as the Pinchuk Art Centre Prize for young Ukrainian artists  The prize boards include blue-chip international artists such as Gursky, Hirst, Koons, Murakami and Sir Elton John and the short-listed artists are exhibited at the Venice Biennale.
