Doron Almog: The Jewish Agency's new chairman on a life of service and sacrifice to the State of Israel

This wonderful episode features a conversation between MirYam Institute CEO, Benjamin Anthony and the newly appointed chairman of the Jewish Agency, Major General (ret.) Doron Almog.

He talks about his storied roles in some of the defining moments of Israel's history: carrying out revenge attacks against the terrorists who murdered Israel's Olympic athletes in the 1972 Munich Games before going onto his role in the Raid On Entebbe in Uganda.

He also talks about the crushing loss of his brother, Eran in the Yom Kippur War and the members of his family maimed and murdered during the second Intifada.

Then there's the event which most profoundly affected and shifted the focus of his life, that of the birth of his son, Eran, named after Doron's fallen brother.

Eran was born with severe disabilities but Doron and his wife were faced with constant disappointment about the quality of care on offer to Eran.

So Doron set about establishing Adi Negev Nahalat Eran, a breathtaking facility that treats, cares and rehabiliates Israel's most vulnerable, irrespective of religion, race, color or creed.
