The Big N roped in simulation and silicon graphics specialists Paradigm to assist them with N64 launch title, Pilotwings 64. The sequel to their 1990 'amateur flight simulation' Pilotwings (itself a previous gen launch title for the SNES), Pilotwings 64 replaced Mode 7 with spectacular solid, textured polygons - but did it retain the challenging yet quirky multidisciplinary gameplay? If nothing else it certainly brought the funk. Leon and Darren talk Birdman, Meca Hawk, Gyrocopters and Jumble Hoppers - as well as the series' follow-ups and legacy.
