02 - Programming Languages - too many, too few?

“It’s a tech decision” - well that is far from the truth! - Selecting, or de-selecting, programming languages for an enterprise of a given size, IS a business decision. It WILL affect how a company performs, how it reacts and how it can evolve.

The decision as such is not trivial nor simple, but it is a decision that should be made rather than accepted. What to base the decision on, can be many thing, but it has to be conscious:

• Who are you as a company?
• Which capabilities do you need to support?
• Is it viable?
• What do already have?
• How do you manage resources?
