In the summer of 2000, 31-year-old musician, David Anderson, went missing after a night out in New Hope, PA. He disappeared after crossing the bridge from New Hope to Lambertville. In 2013, 39-year-old bartender, Sarah Majoras, went missing after a night out in New Hope along the same route that Anderson had mysteriously disappeared from almost 13 years earlier. She was on route to the home she shared with her boyfriend, Adam Baker, who just so happened to be David Anderson’s roommate in the summer of 2000.

December 6th, 2014. Courtland, Mississippi. Firefighters responded to a report of a burning vehicle on a rural road. They found 19-year-old Jessica Chambers nearby. She was still alive but severely burned. Jessica identified herself and told first responders that someone named “Eric” or “Derek,” set her car on fire. She died from her injuries the next day.

January 31st, 2013. Kaufman, Texas. Prosecutor Mark Hasse was shot multiple times as he walked to the Kaufman County courthouse. Two months later, Kaufman County DA Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia were murdered while they slept inside their home. The suspect was a former justice of the peace who was convicted of theft just a year earlier.

Last seen holding hands with an unknown man, she was later found dead, beaten and bloodied, in a TV box two blocks away from her home. With no leads to go on, other than a composite sketch of the unknown male, the case went cold. But several years later, in 1992, new detectives on the case arrested a man whom they claimed confessed to the crime.

May 27, 2011. Hayward, CA. 26-year-old Michelle Le went to her car to retrieve something during a break in her nursing class. She never returned and was reported missing that night. Blood was found near where her car had been parked and in her car when it was located three blocks away. An extensive search, spearheaded by Michelle’s family, combed the surrounding canyons hoping to find her alive. However, the police investigation indicated Michelle had been murdered and led to a suspect with a sinister motive.

On October 27, 2016 in Henry County Georgia, four people were killed during a bonfire party. Two men were indicted and charged with murder. One confessed to the murders and told officers that he was solely responsible. Authorities charged the other man with murder anyway and placed him in jail. In 2021, this man was re-indicted on 30 charges, and the state is seeking the death penalty. He still awaits trial 7 years after the killings.

January 2013, Yuba City, CA. In a small town north of Sacramento, CA, 94-year old Leola Shreves was found dead in her home by her son-in-law. Windows were broken and Leola had been badly beaten. After only a few months, police arrested and obtained a confession from Leola’s neighbor, Michael Alexander. Ultimately the charges against Alexander were dropped after DNA evidence vindicated him from the false confession. Six years after Leola’s death, familial DNA tracing led to the arrest and conviction of Armando Cuadras.

On January 31st, 2011 Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub were found dead inside Lisa’s home. Their hands were bound, and plastic bags were taped over their heads. The murder was carefully planned, and the house was ransacked in such a way that it seemed like the intruders were looking for something specific. The Bain Family Murders. June 20, 1994. Dunedin, New Zealand. A 22 year-old man sets out on his newspaper route early in the morning. Sometime after returning home before 7am, he discovers some members of his immediate family have been murdered. The victims were identified as 59 year-old Robin (father), 50 year-old Margaret (mother), 19 year-old Arawa (daughter), 18 year-old Laniet (daughter), & 14 year-old Stephen (son). Initially, the scene suggested a murder/suicide. A rifle was found on the floor next to Robin's body. As the investigation continued, though, all signs began to point toward the only surviving member of this home. The 22 year-old son, David Cullen Bain, who also happened to have an alibi.

February 5, 2002. Hudson, WI. Dan O’Connell, a funeral home owner, and his intern, James Ellison, are found shot to death in Dan’s office at O’Connell Family Funeral Home. Though the police had leads, none of them led to a viable suspect. Almost three years later, while investigating a separate case, detectives interviewed Father Ryan Erickson, a Catholic priest who was serving in Hudson in 2002. He revealed information only the killer and detectives knew about the double murder. On June 7th, 2020, Sisters Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman were celebrating Henry's 46th birthday on a dark hill in a London park when they were fatally attacked and killed by an assailant brandishing a blade. 36 hours later their bodies were discovered laid out in the undergrowth, posed together. They had been stabbed more than thirty times, the perpetrator then dragged their bodies into a thicket to conceal them before fleeing the scene. Injured, the killer left behind a large amount of his own blood that would eventually lead police directly to him and his bizarre motivation behind the brutal slayings.

December 29th 1977. Shots ring out from a random drive by shooting in Sacramento killing a 51 year old man named Ambrose Griffin. Two weeks later a break-in happened not far from the shooting. On August 5, 1982, Father Reynaldo Rivera, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, was murdered and his body was discovered three days later. Alonzo couldn’t drive, so he rode with his friend Justin Sprague. They all arrived and were having a good time, until Justin left the party, leaving Alonzo stranded. Alonzo didn’t come home the next day and hadn’t contacted anyone about where he was. Nearly a month later, his body was found in a creek at the site of the party.
