This is the story of the Passion of Saint Shushanik. Content Warning: Domestic Abuse, Body Horror.
St. Shushanik was an Armenian princess married to Varsken, the Pitiaksh (viceroy) of Georgia along with Vakhtang Gorgasali. This is a reading of the story, since it is the first piece of extant Georgian literature written in Georgian.

Welcome to the third season of The History of Saqartvelo Georgia, which will take us from the years 284 to 830 AD.
Underlying music is from the 2013 Estonian-Russian film Tangerines.
This month, we're covering Peter the Iberian who was one of the first Georgians in the Holy Land. His life is interesting, and involves quite a bit of monks being tackled, and the main question he likes to ask is, did Jesus Christ have one will, or two?
From Georgian Myths and Folktales by Shorena Kurtsikidze, we bring you another story, one about a Wolfman and two siblings. Part 1 is read by Bry of Pontifacts, and Part 2 is read by Roberto. It is followed by a discussion at the end.

Gamarjoba! This episode takes us from 63 BC to 1 AD in our timeline, so we're finally in the Common Era! We cover 3.5 Kings, since the 4th one actually rules next episode. Gamarjoba! In this episode, we'll be covering the Iberian side of the Mithridatic Wars, and getting way into Pompey. To be fair, he's the main guy in this thing. And yeah, we don't have any clue what our kings still look like. Coin on the episode picture depicts Aristarchos of Colchis.

Gamarjoba! Today we will be covering 4 Iberian kings and a Colchian King, because although I would love to focus in on just one person at a time for better narrative purposes, we frankly don't have much information on these guys to go on. However, we do end right before the Mithridatic wars, so we've got that going for us, which is nice. As mentioned in the episode, I have added the link to the Amazon Wishlist for those who wish to help with acquiring resources.
Find us on:
Gamarjoba everyone! We are back to the narrative, and I present to you Pharnavaz I, the first Georgian king of Iberia. It's so nice having accumulated a ton of sources during our literary break so I can bring this out to you. The episode will be in 2 parts, the first covering the historical portion of what we do know, and the second covering our new source, the Kartlis Tskhovreba, or the Life of Kartli, which is a medieval chronicle that compiles these events. It's also where we get the most information from, so I do warn several times that it's not the most accurate.
Please enjoy the episode, and I can't wait to continue on!

Gamarjoba everyone! Pleasure to have you back here. This is part of our myth series, where we will take a look at different myths of Georgian origin, that involve Georgians, or are just plain old awesome Georgian tales. We begin with Jason and the Argonauts, because it takes place in Colchis. I took the time out and wrote it out in my own style, in a more fast-paced, info filled version. My version of the Argonautica was 140 pages, so I couldn't justify reading all of that to you. Georgian tales will be translated and read out though, since I don't want to lose any info on those.
