Margaret Montoya and Clarence Otto have been assigned to Operation Wolf’s Head to try and find out what happened to the Los Angeles, a nuclear sub converted to recovering the wreckage of the Orbital, an alien machine that started a deadly plague. Meanwhile, Steve Stanton and Bo Pan are also heading toward the watery grave of the Los Angeles. They are on board the Mary Ellen Moffet, a boat owned by Cooper Mitchell and Jeff Brockman, who have no idea their two passengers are sleeper agents for the Chinese government.
