When I look back on this endeavor that I have undertaken this will be one of those interviews that I will look back on with great excitement. Airto needed to go to a wedding otherwise we might have kept going.
It was a meandering set with the first forty minutes revolving around psychology, fear, doubt and getting lost in a communist country in Europe before a gig. Part II was an introduction to the Khahasiki and all the other percussion instruments that he made famous in jazz via vocal ad-libbing by Airto. Part III was open mike as we cranked Halloween '83 from Marin Vets. Such a good time.
