There is an argument to be made that Daniel Kellison is one of the greatest segment producers in Late Night Television history, and no, we are not being hyperbolic in making that claim. Daniel started his career with David Letterman and Company in 1988 as a researcher, and worked his way up the ladder enthusiastically over the years. By the time 'The Late Shift' happened, Daniel was a very important part of the show, and when it moved to CBS and the entire world was watching, the entire staff rose to the occasion to create must see TV that was NOT on NBC. The first few years of 'The Late Show with David Letterman' had iconic moment after iconic moment, and Daniel has graciously given of his time to come on The Letterman Podcast for his first (of many if we have anything to say about it) appearances and talk about a few of those iconic moments he had a hand in. Drew Barrymore? Check. 'That' Madonna appearance? Yup. Peter O'Toole? Our big finish. Daniel regales us with many hilarious stories from the show and beyond, including a Hal Gurnee moment you must hear to believe; we promise it will make you laugh. He and Mike also have a lovely talk about Norm Macdonald. This is a quintessential episode of The Letterman Podcast proudly brought to you in part by The Hello Deli.
