In this episode Shaman Candace and Spirit Medium Jenn dive deep into 3 misconceptions of Shamanism.
1. What is a Shaman?
Shamanism is not tied to any single culture. This earth-based healing path has been around for as long as people. However, the term "Shaman” originated from the Tungus tribe in Siberia.
The definition of Shaman is “one who knows or one who sees in the dark.”
2. Is Shamanism a religion?
This is simply not true. While several religions may have evolved from a shamanic tradition, shamanism is a spiritual and healing path. Because it is not a religion, the practice should not pull you away from your spiritual path.
Shamanism has been known to deepen the understanding of spiritual views and bring profound healing to one’s life.
3. Do all Shamans use plant medicine?
While some Shamans use plant medicine, not all do. As Modern Day Medicine Women or Shamans, we focus on healing through breathing work, journey work, energy work, processing, integration, sacred ceremony, and lots of practice.
