In this episode, Shelby shares some of the less "merry" tales of the holiday season. In the treacherous dark season of the year, our pagan ancestors told tales of monsters coming down from the mountains, capturing children who didn't listen to their parents or strayed too far from the fire. From Gryla and her Yule Lads to Krampus, the Mari Lwyd, and her battle of words; the folklore of the holiday season was not just symbolic; it was necessary.
