Daniel, Shahbaz, & Anthony review Kitty Green’s THE ROYAL HOTEL as part of The Movie Podcast's 2023 Toronto International Film Festival coverage. The film explores the story of two friends who run out of cash while backpacking in Australia and must take jobs in an exploitative pub to fund their trip home. It stars Jessica Henwick, Julia Garner, Bree Bain, Toby Wallace and Hugo Weaving. The Royal Hotel premieres Monday September 11 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto with a release coming soon by Elevation Pictures and Neon.
