Born in Seychelles and growing up in East and Southern Africa, Fr. Richard René is a convert to Orthodoxy and a priest of the Orthodox Church in America. He lives in Chilliwack, British Columbia, with his wife Jaime. He has three children. He has worked as a Chaplain in the federal correctional system and is currently overseeing Chaplaincy services in the Pacific region for Correctional Service Canada. He directs St. Silas Orthodox Prison Ministry Society (orthodoxprisonministry.ca), and is currently working on his doctoral dissertation at Regis-St. Michael's College, Toronto School of Theology. He is the author of three Young Adult fantasy novels, available on Amazon under the pseudonym 'Richard Garcia Morgan.'
