Actor David Coffee
When considering a guest to help usher in the holiday season, I knew whom I wanted to interview. My guest next week is not a paranormal celebrity per-se. His show, however, is an annual holiday tradition complete with four spirits who help transform the money-pinching Ebenezer Scrooge into a kind-hearted man.
Actor David Coffee has brilliantly played Scrooge in Massachusetts’ North Shore Music Theatre’s (NSMT) annual production of A Christmas Carol for many years.
He first appeared in the NSMT production in 1992 at the age of 35. For almost three decades, he has performed the role of Scrooge to well over one million theatergoers. It might surprise you to know that he travels from Arlington, Texas, each year to play this iconic role.
When I met Coffee last month, I was introduced to a kindhearted, jovial man whose off-stage personality is much more akin to the happy Scrooge you meet at the conclusion of A Christmas Carol.
Join us for a trip backstage as I interview actor David Coffee. We talk about theater, A Christmas Carol, and his life as a successful actor.
A Christmas Carol begins December 1 and plays 17 performances through December 23. For tickets, visit
