Compared to last year, the opening day of the Las Vegas Grand Prix event was relatively subdued, but despite the lack of razzmatazz there's still plenty to talk about on The Race F1 Podcast.

With Franco Colapinto and Ollie Bearman impressing on their Formula 1 outings this year, and Kimi Antonelli landing a place at Mercedes for 2024, the question of the relevance of Formula 2 has been talked about extensively in recent months.

Two huge F1 debuts are coming up at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend - with Mercedes protege Kimi Antonelli getting his hands on the team's 2024 car and Franco Colapinto making his race debut following a huge shake-up at Williams.

The Race F1 Podcast turns first to Antonelli, with Edd Straw joined by Ben Anderson and Scott Mitchell-Malm to discuss how significant an outing this could be for a driver who seems destined for a 2025 Mercedes F1 graduation - and the potential headache Mercedes has on its hands for 2026 if Toto Wolff picks his interest in signing Max Verstappen back up again next year.

McLaren sprung a surprise for fans on Tuesday with an unexpected reveal of its revised 2024 F1 car livery. So what better time for a catch-up on all things papaya, with Scott Mitchell-Malm and Ben Anderson joining Edd Straw for a wide-ranging chat. Track limits - it's become a phrase we hear nearly every Grand Prix weekend, with drivers, journalists, commentators and fans all having their say on drivers straying beyond the limits of the circuit and how to punish them if they do. We've seen lap times deleted in qualifying, drivers being penalised for gaining an advantage in races and, more recently, a post-race protest in the US from Haas, aimed at recovering points from drivers who repeatedly strayed beyond track limits but weren't punished. Clearly, this is state of affairs that needs to be fixed, so as the end of the season approaches, Edd Straw is joined by Scott Mitchell-Malm, Glenn Freeman and Ben Anderson for a debate on tracks limits, with each of them presenting their vision for how to solve F1's most contentious issue for good.
