This week, Jim Reid leads the panel through Chris Jones' Theme of the Month for August: playing Blind vs. Blind. While battling it out against each other in the nightly home game, the panel discusses the virtues of small blind open-raising vs completing, big blind raising ranges, who has range advantage in various scenarios, how this might inform your postflop play, and more! There are some very interesting corollaries to how the preflp actions define player's ranges - even while keeping them incredibly wide and opaque at the same time. NOTE: These strategies mostly apply in tournament poker, as in cash games the rake taken out of each pot that gets postflop incentivizes you to raise and take it down preflop, avoiding the rake. So don't limp the SB in cash games the way you might in tournaments!
